Life takes many turns no matter how well we script it. For Jarrett, the route to his proposing to Ali took many turns along a circuit of hiking trails that at long last wound their way to the perfect location by a waterfall. There, he dropped to his knee and surprised Ali by popping the question and capturing her heart forever.

Acquaintances since middle school, Ali and Jarrett didn’t feel Cupid’s kiss until their senior year in high school, after going on their first date to see “He’s Just Not That Into You.” If ever a movie title didn’t match the moment, this was it! Jarrett was into Ali in a big way and, happily, she felt the same about him.

“After Jarrett proposed, I was still in complete shock as we walked back to our car with our two friends, who were in on Jarrett’s plan and who photographed the whole proposal,” Ali said. But Jarrett wasn’t finished with the surprises. As Ali was about to get into the car, Jarrett pointed to another car in the parking lot that was filled with balloons. Crowded around it were both their families, who were on hand to celebrate the great occasion. “We all went back to Jarrett’s parents’ house and some more friends joined us for a backyard celebration!”

And about that ring

With a heads-up from his dad, Jarrett was able to find the cushion cut diamond ring of Ali’s dreams. “My dad works for FedEx in Morristown and Braunschweiger Jewelers is a regular stop,” Jarrett said. “He went in and told them my budget and some of the details of what Ali was looking for in the ring. It just so happened that a gorgeous cushion cut diamond had just arrived at the store.” With the perfect diamond available at Braunschweiger, Jarrett hustled to the Morristown store the first chance he had to browse different settings, choosing one that beautifully combined classic styling with modern sophistication. “I sent a picture to Ali’s best friend and she agreed that it was perfect,” he said.

What’s next for the happy couple?

“I wish I could tell you that after 2 months we have plans but we really don’t,” Ali said. “We know it’s going to be big because we both have a lot of loved ones and we want everyone we care about to be there celebrating with us! We also know we like the idea of a fall wedding.” Jarrett agreed, “Fall of 2019 would be great!”

Our congratulations and best wishes to this special couple. Thank you, Ali and Jarrett, for allowing Braunschweiger Jewelers to share in your special moment.
